142-Product Development Engineer
The Product Development Engineer will report to the Director of Engineering and perform a wide range of research, design, prototyping, experimentation, process optimization, and testing activities. This individual will support the development of new products, product enhancements, production process re-engineering, and quality control. This role will collaborate closely with sales, marketing, manufacturing and customers to fulfill our product and process innovation agenda.
Manage Product Development Agenda
Research, collect, and prioritize product requirements for approved projects and programs in collaboration with Sales, Marketing & Manufacturing.
Design and develop innovative products according to program requirements by applying knowledge or chemistry, weaving, coating and other manufacturing processes.
Actively Support the manufacturing team with process optimization ideas, process design, and documentation.
Prepare laboratory samples of new products for testing and evaluation.
Perform laboratory testing, data collection, statistical and other data analysis
Prepare product manufacturing documentation and specifications related to new products or new processes.
Assist in quality control sampling, root cause analysis, and other quality objectives.
Ensure that lab equipment is in safe and proper working condition and that laboratory safety is proactively followed and continuously improved.
Ensure laboratory environment is in top 6S condition at all times

High proficiency in MS Excel, statistical analysis, graphing and data interpretation
Ability to solve challenging problems both scientifically and pragmatically, and deal with a variety of known and unknown variables
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions - written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Ability to read and interpret documents such as external lab reports, test and material specifications, safety rules and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, clearly and concisely
4 year degree in Material Science or Chemical Engineering
2-4 years related experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience, in preferred or closely related discipline
